A well-known card with such a device (DE 4 328 431 A) is in practice in high quantities trouble-free in business use and has found wide broadening. At a delivery speed of up to approx. 330 m / min, a profile closed as support and guide body is used. The front, the lower nip facing surface of the element is flat. At increased delivery speeds and also with a larger working width, disturbing air currents can act on the sensitive fiber web.
The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a card of the type described above, which avoids the disadvantages mentioned, which allows in particular a simple way improved guidance of the batt, especially for larger working width and / or increased delivery speed.
The solution of this object is achieved according to the invention by a carding machine having the features of independent claim 1.
